It was great to start the new wedding season with a change of scenery in Natal and to meet David and Marjonne, South Africans out from the UK. Being the start of the season I've gone a bit overboard on how many images I've posted...

Laura and Matt are two of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of meeting. They are the kind of nice that make you feel good about life and yourself. They literally burst out of happiness and love for each other. Their midday wedding at Le Petite Ferme was an intimate gathering of their family who managed to make it out in time despite the ash cloud hanging over Europe a few weeks back.

Lara and Brian, two more beautiful people I've had the priviledge of meeting and capturing the immense love between.

Jeannine and Liam have known each other since they were 3 - isn't that so cool? Jeannine has an amazing eye for detail and their wedding at Clouds was exquisitely put together. 

For the first time this week I've had internet for more than 5 minutes.. apparently some cable under the sea is being repaired?

Anyway, finally a blog update. I met Annie at Janet and Nick's wedding last year and she was as chilled out and lovely on her wedding day as she was when I met her. Did I mention that I love autumn? And their day at  Langverwacht in autumn was really realy beautiful.

Julie and Ryan's wedding took place on a near-raining autumn day in Franschhoek at Le Petite Ferme. 
Beautiful soft pink details, gorgeous and natural bride, autumn vibe in the air - their wedding was stunning. Thanks for traipsing through burned-out fields with me!

I've shot quite a few weddings at Vrede en Lust this year already and it never loses it's charm. What amazes me is how the same venue can look so different with individual touches and details.

Layla and Paul's wedding was beautiful in every way and they are an amazing couple - don't you think Layla is a bit of a combination of Meryl Streep and Kate Winslet?

Michelle and Neil got married at the beautiful little St George's Cathedral in the Solms Delta, followed by a gorgeous reception at Le Petite Dauphine in Franschhoek on what must have been the hottest of the very hottest day of the year. I personally think everyone did very well to keep their clothes on.

Megan and Greg, super chilled out and so-lovely-together couple, celebrated their big day at Birkenhead House just outside Hermanus. Simple and beautiful details, gorgeous setting and some earth-shaking dancing from the boys...

I may have said it before but I really LOVE Jewish weddings. There is always tangible sense of tradition and the horah action is insanely energetic. 

Vrede en Lust never fails to disappoint, the light was stunning, and Hayley looked pretty damn fabulous.

Caron and I had huge fun being roomates at boarding school when we were awkward adolescents with heart-wrenching crushes on anything that vaguely resembled a male. Those were the days of rocking it out to Def Leppard, Dirty Dancing and mixed tapes, Saturday school, twinkies for Wednesday lunch time, walls smothered with Macguyver and Richard Gere, room inspections, passing notes during silent homework hour, annoying high-pitched giggles and forced 5am mid-winter jogs around the Natal Midlands.

Thankfully we've moved on since then and it was amazing to see Caron with a guy who is besotted with her and who balances her so well. They had a beautiful wedding at Green Leaves in Hartebeespoort. Which, for non-Gauties, is kind of near to Joburg. Thanks to Simon, my ama-zing hubby who was my packhorse for the day.

It's Friday afternoon, the most amazing albums have just come back from the US and Jude is happily playing in the empty box. So I've got a few minutes do a proper blog post about Khanyi and Chinezi's most fabulous wedding which took place at Allee Bleue last year. They were truly a very gorgeous couple to photograph.

It was pretty cool to see my photo of them on this month's cover of  Destiny magazine. Go check it out for more images from this beautiful day...
