Candice and Mike - Natal Midlands
Wednesday, 01 September 2010

This past weekend was spent bumping along dirt roads (with a trusty Hyundai Atos) in the Natal Midlands for Candice and Mike's wedding at Providence . I LOVE the rustic, African beauty of Natal and the gorgeously soft light. Add in a besotted couple, Irish accents, happy families and some very cool dancing and you have yourself an awesome-tastic wedding. Thanks for flying us up for the weekend and putting us up at the stunning Glen Afton Country House . And a huge thank you to Monica Dart for coming along to second shoot with me.

I'm off to Bali tomorrow for the next 2 weeks so the blog and email will be a bit quiet during that time - back in the office 20 September.

I met Claudia and Martin at a Lomography course we did at Cape Town School of Photography last year and they are such a stunning couple together. I was so excited to hear that they were engaged and that they asked me to shoot their intimate wedding at Grande Roche in Paarl.

Laura and Matt at Le Petite Ferme
Thursday, 13 May 2010

Laura and Matt are two of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of meeting. They are the kind of nice that make you feel good about life and yourself. They literally burst out of happiness and love for each other. Their midday wedding at Le Petite Ferme was an intimate gathering of their family who managed to make it out in time despite the ash cloud hanging over Europe a few weeks back.

Annie and Ben at Lanverwacht
Thursday, 22 April 2010

For the first time this week I've had internet for more than 5 minutes.. apparently some cable under the sea is being repaired?

Anyway, finally a blog update. I met Annie at Janet and Nick's wedding last year and she was as chilled out and lovely on her wedding day as she was when I met her. Did I mention that I love autumn? And their day at  Langverwacht in autumn was really realy beautiful.

Carina and Paul at Backsberg
Thursday, 22 April 2010
I love the story of how Carina and Paul met - she is an air stewardess for Emirates and they started chatting on a flight that he was a passenger on. Apparently he knew the minute that he saw her that this was the woman he would marry. Goosebumpstuff.
They are an ama-zing couple and it was so much fun capturing their wedding at Backsberg.

Julie and Ryan's wedding took place on a near-raining autumn day in Franschhoek at Le Petite Ferme.

Layla and Paul at Vrede en Lust
Monday, 12 April 2010

I've shot quite a few weddings at Vrede en Lust this year already and it never loses it's charm. What amazes me is how the same venue can look so different with individual touches and details.

Layla and Paul's wedding was beautiful in every way and they are an amazing couple - don't you think Layla is a bit of a combination of Meryl Streep and Kate Winslet?

Michelle and Neil at Le Petite Dauphine
Wednesday, 24 March 2010

Michelle and Neil got married at the beautiful little St George's Cathedral in the Solms Delta, followed by a gorgeous reception at Le Petite Dauphine in Franschhoek on what must have been the hottest of the very hottest day of the year. I personally think everyone did very well to keep their clothes on.
