Gossip
Taryn and Grant at the 12 Apostles
Wednesday, 04 November 2009

I guess it's true that wind can be quite annoying - as a polite way of putting it -  but one can get some pretty amazing images without making anyone do a funky-chicken dance or hiring a bad-ass wind generator.

The wind wrestled with Taryn's beautiful long veil, shoved wind into faces and jerkily jiggled my camera as I shot. True Cape Town style.

Taryn managed to look amazing the whole way through in her gorgeous Gert van de Merwe creation.

Kirstin and Tony's Engagement
Monday, 02 November 2009

Despite howling wind, protests of 'not liking the camera' and interuptions from traffic and a bergie, we got some awesome couple shots of Kirstin and Tony. Looking forward to your wedding at the end of this week!

Hendrien and Ivan at The Cradle
Thursday, 29 October 2009

Lessons/realisations from this past weekend:

 - Flying without a baby on your lap is supreme bliss. After having done many flights with Jude, travelling anywhere on my own is   complete bliss

 - Never rent a Hyundai Atos if you like to drive over 50km/hour

- There is no place like the bushveld for me. The smell of a thunderstorm approaching, red earth, cool trees, scraggly bushveld =  immense peace and happiness to live in Africa.

-  Lying in scraggly bushveld can get very itchy (sorry guys!)

Another amazing wedding, it was so worth flying up for the occasion, thank you! I don't usually post a lot of detailed table shots but I couldn't resist here. And my resolution to keep the numbers down went out the window once again. NEXT time I promise I WILL keep it under 10!! Thanks too to Ursula Tocik for coming to second shoot with me.

Jess and Rob at Webersburg
Thursday, 22 October 2009

Jess and Rob's adoring looks between each other general wedding euphoria would have even given Gregory House more than just a mild warm and fuzzy feeling. African sunshine, amazing venue, amazing close-knit family, super-chilled out couple and enough time to capture it all made me one-times very happy photographer. This is a very small selection of many amazing moments.

Fatima and David's Engagement
Friday, 14 August 2009

For the very dedicated blog-stalkers, you guys might remember David and Fatima's wedding from way back last year February! We did things in a bit of a weird order and last night I did their 'engagement session' with them with the last light of the day, my favourite!

Kirsten's boudoir - Part 1
Tuesday, 11 August 2009

I was so stoked that Kirsten wanted to do a boudoir shoot - she is such a vivacious and funky person. When she asked Darren if he minded me putting some of her boudoir images on the blog, his response was 'Of course.. I am the proudest husband' and basically he would be happy to flaunt Kirsten and her body to all and sundry cos it's a reflection of his fine taste.. what a cool couple!

Kirsten had some very cool, um, 'props' which made the shoot a lot of fun! A few first shots from the session:

The last 'installment' of Jen's boudoir - I have to admit that not everybody would be up for getting totally starkers on a wooden deck but Jen was really cool!

Jen's boudoir - Part 1
Thursday, 30 July 2009

I was unavailable to shoot Jen's wedding but she contacted me to do a boudoir shoot for her man, Simon. She was staying at an incredible guesthouse in Hout Bay where we had her room and awesome spots in the garden to work with - there are so many cool shots from this shoot that I'll share a few at a time. Thanks Jen for allowing me to share your "works of art"!
